Isaiah Austin

Former Baylor Basketball Player

In his own words…

On the Court

At Baylor University, Isaiah Austin Austin earned third-team All-Big 12 and Big 12 All-Rookie Team honors, as well as Big 12 All-Defensive Team honors. After declaring for the draft, he was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, making him unable to play. After two years, however, he was cleared to continue playing basketball and now plays in Puerto Rico.

Off the Court

Austin credits his faith as the foundation on which he leaned during the difficulties following his diagnosis. He created the Isaiah Austin Foundation to provide support for the awareness and research of Marfan syndrome and those affected by it. The Foundation also supports related disorders and other charitable causes. Its mission is to inspire others to dream again.
