Holton Ahlers

Quarterback for East Carolina University

In his own words…

On the Field

Ahlers began the 2018 season as the backup quarterback, but halfway through the season, he was named the first true freshman to start a game for ECU since 1993. In his debut, Ahlers had 406 passing yards and a touchdown, and he followed this with 449 yards (fourth-most in school history) and three touchdowns against Memphis. Ahlers played through a finger injury to record 360 yards, two touchdowns, and a two-point conversion in a close loss to Tulane the following week.

Off the Field

Ahlers credits his relationship with God as his foundation for all seasons of life. Talking about a tattoo on his arm, he says, “I decided to put mountains just behind the verse, because God is with you on the mountain top, and He’s also with you in the valleys. The circumstances in life don’t dictate the amount of love God has for us.”
