Derek Carr was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 2nd round of the 2014 NFL Draft. As quarterback, he has thrown for over 3,000 yards each of his six seasons with over 140 touchdowns. He holds several franchise records for the Oakland Raiders.
Off the Field
Carr married Heather Neel on June 29, 2012. The couple have three sons. His oldest son was born with a medical condition that tied up his intestines and required three surgeries to correct. Through this process, Carr cites his Christian faith as his anchor and the most important thing in his life. He has tattoos on his wrists, the left citing a verse from the Biblical Book of Jeremiah and the right depicting a Chi Rho.
